Urine samples - request from our clinicians

Our clinicians have asked us to share a request re sample pots.

We have seen an increase in the number of urine samples being brought in in jars, pots and containers.  Many of these containers are not suitable as they are contaminated, not sterile and can give a false result when the sample is being dipped.  Our clinicians then also have to dispose of the container and decanter the contents.

We would kindly ask that you do not bring in samples in anything other than the sample pots we provide here at the surgery.  If you do bring a sample in in anything other an appropriate pot our team may ask you to decant the sample.  We are always happy to provide you with sample pots to take home or to use in one of our patient toilet facilities on site.

We also ask that you ensure you complete on of the accompanying sample forms to we know who the sample belongs to and the reason for sending it in.

Thanks in advance for your co-operation.
