The Practice is available between 08:00 and 18:30, Monday to Friday. If you think you need to be seen or need to speak to someone, please call us or drop in and book an appointment. We are operating a care navigation system which means that your problem will be assessed when you speak to us and you will be directed to the most appropriate person to respond to your request. This may not always be a doctor, your issue may have been directed to one of our nurses or advice relayed via our admin team.
Our reception team are trained, authorised and asked by our GPs to do this, as they are looking to find an appointment for you with the most appropriate healthcare professional, or to determine how long your appointment needs to be, or what equipment might be needed. Please understand this and be courteous to our team.
All our staff adhere to the strictest of confidentiality and Data Protection legislation, so please be assured your medical information is secure with all our staff.
All surgery sessions are by appointment, usually at 10 to 15 minute intervals, but this will depend upon the reason for your visit. If you would like to discuss more than one concern please book a double appointment.
These appointments are for advance booking as pre-bookable, available ~11 to 13 weeks in advance. You can book them by phone or by emailing the reception team (always include your full name, DOB, reason for appointment and a contact telephone number).
You can email: enquiries.w93019@wales.nhs.uk (see Disclaimer Notice)
By limiting the number of GP pre-bookable appointments, we hope to ensure that the Doctors are not overbooked weeks ahead and to allow you to see a doctor on the same day that you request the appointment.
These appointments are usually booked by calling from 08:00 on that day, but clinically urgent cases will always be dealt with no matter what time of day.
For 24/7 requests for advice or support, please see eConsult, our online service now available. We will respond within 1 full working day.
The clinical staff will always do their utmost to see patients quickly especially if the request is urgent. To achieve this, you may be asked to attend at the other surgery premises, be flexible in your choice of clinicians, or to have a telephone consultation with the GP. Where possible, the closer to 08:00 the request is received, the better the choice in being seen that day.
Our nurses are fully trained in minor illnesses, so please ask if they might have appointments available sooner. See here for a list of common conditions they can help with.
On occasion we do need to run what we call 'triage' days. On these days all appointment requests may be run past our clinical team first and we will then contact you to advise if you need to be seen and when or if you can expect a phone call.
