UPDATE: English resident patients & Covid boosters

UPDATE:

We believe this issue is now resolved. English resident patients who had their autumn booster in England should now be able to view this on their Welsh Covid passport as the data appears to have been transferred to the Welsh Immunisation System (WIS).

If anyone is continuing to have difficulties with this matter, please email us at: Enquiries.w93019@wales.nhs.uk and provide full name, DOB, NHS number (if known) and the full detail of your query.

We’ve had a few English patients calling or coming in to surgeries this week to advise that they’ve been called to a Welsh MVC for their Covid booster which they have already had at a location outside the Practice*, most often another centre such as the one in Bream.

We know that lots of you who attended Bream for your booster have already told us and you are no doubt frustrated that this doesn't seem to have been recorded.  We wanted to let you know that we are aware of this situation.  We took action last Autumn, as we have done in all previous Covid-19 vaccination campaigns, with the plan that the data would be transferred to the Welsh Immunisation System, and individual records updated to show that no dose was due.  Sadly this has not yet happened and is not within our direct control.

We have raised it with the right people and are awaiting further updates.

In the meantime, if you do receive a letter inviting you to attend a MVC for your Autumn booster and you have already had it, please do call the Aneurin Bevan Health Board number on the letter and advise them.  They will be able to take action to prevent you from receiving further invites. If you have not yet had it and would like to, please attend the appointment or contact them to arrange a more convenient time. If you do not want to have the booster please contact ABUHB and let them know.

Re Covid Passes

Unfortunately this may have an impact on ensuring up to date information on your Covid pass.  We have been given the advice below to pass on to help.  It would be helpful to have to hand the date on which you received the booster, which vaccine it was (eg Moderna, Pfizer etc) and if you know, the batch number and expiry date:

If an English vaccination is missing from the patient’s Covid Pass, Patients are now required to contact the Swansea Covid Pass Office directly with any queries related to their Covid Pass and missing vaccinations which were administered in England.

* = This does not affect patients who had their booster at a pharmacy/chemist/hospital
